GOOD STUFF
★★★★★
We rarely get to dig deep and hear from a father's point of view, so I love the stories and thoughts that The
Dad Bod brings out. Every interview is unique and thought-provoking.

THOUGHT PROVOKING FOR MAMA'S TOO
★★★★★
For any wife who tries to understand her husband better, listening to an episode of The Dad Bod helps draw
interesting parallels because each of the dads can be relatable in their own ways. And if not entirely
relatable, then elightening, opening awindow to a world we all can relate to - being a parent or understanding
our own parents better.

ALL THE FEELS
The Dad Bod Substack
"If every stage in Edwin's life can be described by fire - be it the fire of tough circumstances in his youth,
the fire of responsibility in early adulthood, or the fire of romance in dating Pat - then for this present
moment, the fire in Edwin's life is Pat herself."
"Although I asked Andres to contrast his and his dad's careers, I can now hear that the comparison I was
actually seeking was his career versus my own. What is it like for your vocation to be intrinsically tied to
rather than separate from your faith? The question originates from an unsettled feeling in my own life that
something as profound as faith should not be severed from something as dominant in life as work."
"As an Asian-American, I am familiar with the banana metaphor. Like all metaphors, the "yellow on the outside,
white on the inside" banana is imperfect, but what it gets right is the coexistence of the banana's yellow and
white essential features, which represent the Asian American's lifelong reconciliation of an Asian cultural
identity with an “American” operating identity. "Should I assimilate or keep separate?" is the constant
question and the answer, I can tell you, is always "both." The goal is to stand out and blend in at the same
time; to pursue the American dream and honor your Asian heritage."
"The best thing that's ever happened to me." "The hardest thing I've ever done." "The proudest I've ever
felt." "The
most tired I've ever been." These are the dad experience in a nutshell. With each episode of the Dad Bod,
we're going to
crack open the nutshell, telling the story of what it means to be a dad today, one dad at a time.
The
idea for
the Dad Bod comes from all of the dads that I've met. I'm often inspired by their good work and how much of
themselves
they pour into being a dad. At the same time, it's always clear that they're far from perfect and are simply
trying
their best - just like me.
Men aren't exactly known for being good at sharing. It's a generalization
that
absolutely applies to us dads, too. At the same time, for 20 years and counting, the podcast medium has proven
to be
extremely capable at finding amazing stories about people's lived experiences. What if we put these two things
together?
Would we end up with a podcast filled with amazing stories about regular, everyday dads? As they say, there's
only one
way to find out…
